Russia: Islamic health clinics planned in Moscow

Islam Online Muslim leaders in Russia will open special health and beauty facilities in Moscow, including a maternity hospital and a dental clinic.
The health services at the new Islamic clinics will be provided in compliance with the Islamic Shariah law, news agencies reported.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted the chief of the Al-Khak association for Muslims in Russia, Kamilzhan Kalandarov, as saying that no alcohol-based anaesthetics will be used at the dental clinic.
Kalandarov also said that patients at the maternity hospital will be treated by female medical staff only.
He added that the maternity clinic will be open to any woman, regardless of whether she is Muslim, registered as a resident of Moscow or a Russian citizen.
The Muslim association is also planning to open a special Muslim beauty salon and a Muslim kindergarten later this year, ITAR-TASS news agency reported.
The Russian Muslim population officially numbers 20 million, in a country with a total population of 143 million.
