Pakistan: A Small Dream

A Small Dream is a documentary film produced and directed by WLUML networker, Gulnar Tabassum. It tells the story of a young girl (Humaira Bachal) from the Moach Goth squatter settlement, Karachi, Pakistan. The only girl in her community to go to school, Humaira decided to teach children from her community, at home, the lessons she herself learnt in class.

Today the Moach Goth Replication School educates over 700 students in four shifts, including adult literacy classes for young women. A Small Dream was launched on 28 March, 2009, in Lahore at the South Asia Free Media Association.

Gulnar Tabassum is a film-maker from Pakistan. She made A Small Dream after she received a 10-day WEMC-supported training in documentary film-making.
