The theme for this year’s campaign is, “ For the Health of Women, For the Health of the World: No more Violence”.
Professional discrimination and gender bias seems more severe in the case of women who do not have French citizenship or come from French families. For them, the idea of equal rights merely emphasises that there is a wide gap between theory and practice.
Rights & Democracy, in collaboration with the Shirkat Gah Women’s Resource Centre and WLUML is holding a training for women’s rights leaders in December 2004 in Pakistan.
DAWN is a network of women scholars and activists from the economic South who engage in feminist research and analysis of the global environment and are committed to working for economic justice, gender justice and democracy.
Recent workshops conducted by WLP’s partners in Morocco and Nigeria have led to a number of new initiatives for women’s rights advocacy and conflict resolution.
