BAOBAB for Women’s Human Rights organized the Africa Regional Meeting in collaboration with Femmes et Droits Humains, (FDH) Mali from January 24 -28, 2006 in Bamako Mali. There were 33 participants drawn from 14 African countries.
A listing of over 3,000 scholars from all over the world and from all disciplines whose work focuses on a wide range of issues (economic, social, political, religious, artistic, etc.) relevant to women in Muslim countries and communities.
EWIC is envisioned as a broad based, interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, transhistorical encyclopedia, focusing specifically on women and Islamic cultures, but also including non-Muslim women in cultures where Islam has had a significant presence.
